If you want to join the IPA you can join online here. The list of branches you can join in Scotland is listed on the Branches Page.

£30 joining fee, plus £25 annually on 1st January (direct debit only so have your bank details at hand). You will receive a Welcome Pack containing your membership card, lapel badge, the most recent edition of our magazine (Police World), a list of membership services and contact details and information regarding your local branch committee. You will receive further magazines throughout the year and literature/newsletters sent out by the Scottish Region or your local branch.

Membership of the Association is open to all serving and retired (on full or medical pension) members of any civil Police Service.

Ordinary membership shall be open to:
a) Any serving or retired Police Officer of the Police Service.
b) Members of Her Majesty’s Inspectorate of Constabulary.
c) Serving members of the Special Constabulary of the Police Service and members of the Special Constabulary who have resigned on reaching age limit or on health grounds.
d) Any other serving or retired Police Officer of a Police Service whose application is approved by the National Council.
